A loan helped to purchase not only traditional clothing to resell but also various styles and sizes of sandals.
Margaritas De Xejuyu Group's story
Seven industrious women have formed the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Margaritas de Xejuyu” and received their first loan funded by Kiva investors last year. They have successfully finished this loan cycle, paying back the loan fully and on time. With the funds, the ladies were able to maintain or expand their small businesses. They are hopeful that Kiva investors will fund their second loan. Sonia, a 39-year-old member of the Trust Bank, is a motivated business woman who is married with four children. Her goals are to earn additional income to support the family, send each of her children to school and realize her dreams. Sonia is very busy with her family and three businesses. She sells traditional clothing, sandals for children and women and has a convenience store. With her new loan, Sonia plans to purchase not only traditional clothing to resell but also various styles and sizes of sandals. She is especially sensitive to the wants and desires of her clientele and wants to attract new customers as well. Sonia and her friends in the Trust Bank are very aware of the value of education, as many of them were unable to attend school. Sonia is pleased that her oldest child was able to finish high school. Kiva investors play an important role with the ladies of “Margaritas de Xejuyu” in providing capital for the loans. The women face a more successful and happier future. Thank you, Kiva investors!
