A loan helped buy fertilizer for the corn field.

Nua Ngam 14 Group's story

Thanh, 31, lives in a Thai ethnic traditional house with five other members of her family: her in-laws, husband, and her two small children aged five and one. Thanh and her husband work in agricultural production to provide for the family while her in-laws are at an advanced age and they stay at home to look after the children.

To have enough income to cover living expenses, she diversifies cultivation and animal husbandry with plenty of activities such as cultivating rice, growing corn and cassava and raising pigs and three buffaloes for ploughing. Handling the difficulty in lack of capital for investment, she has taken out a loan from the Anh Chi Em Program. This is her fifth loan in the Program and she will use it to buy fertilizer for the corn field. She hopes to reap a good harvest and gain good income.

Thanh dreams of a more abundant life and a brighter future for her children. In the picture, she is wearing a white shirt and standing the first from the right.
