Sarah's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase a solar light, as well as hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.
Sarah's Group's story
Sarah's Group is made up of six farmers in Kakamega South District. Sarah, age 36, is the group leader. She has been a farmer for four years and is often referred to as a very hard-working individual. She joined One Acre Fund in 2013 and reports that she has noticed significant life changes since then, particularly since she is now consistently able to adequately feed her family. Sarah and her husband have two children. This year, Sarah will not only receive fertilizer and maize seeds as part of her loan, but will also purchase a solar light. She is very excited about this addition, since now her children will be able to study during the dark hours. In addition to Sarah's solar light, the group will receive sufficient farming inputs to plant a total of 3.5 acres.
