Maa Brahamanidei Shg-B Group's story
Maa Brahamanidei SHG-B was formed with two members in 2014 in a small village in Odisha. They came together to help each other and solve the social issues among them, save money, and provide financial support to their families. They chose Dahana as the featurd borrower of their group. The lady standing left is Dahana. Dahana is a 35-year-old woman living with her husband and her three children. For seven years, Dahana's husband has been working as a farmer to support his small family. His income is not sufficient to support the family. So, Dahana is helping her husband by working with him and being involved in the mushroom cultivating business. She has four years of experience in this business. She has requested a loan to buy more mushroom seeds, straw and other raw materials, and to repair the space where her mushrooms are cultivated, so that she can add to her family’s income. Dahana says that by selling mushrooms, she can support her family, and she can send her children to a good school; through that, she can provide a better education to her children. The other member Tula is involved in fish selling.
