Adriana Maribel's story
The Andrés de Vera de Miraflores Credit Group meets every fifteen days in Andrés de Vera Parish in the city of Portoviejo, the capital of Manabí, known for many years as “The City of the Royal Tamarind Trees”. Adriana lives here. She is 21 years old, and maintains a common-law-marriage, from which she has a four-year-old daughter who is in nursery school. Her husband works in a factory in Manta. She is studying beauty in an academy in town, and is about to graduate. Adriana is a very hardworking woman who likes to earn her own income in order to help her husband with the household expenses. She works in her house, performing beauty services such as hair coloring and manicures, among other things, and she also does housekeeping work. She has been doing this work for more than a year, and she earns her own income with this. She hopes to gradually adapt a place in order to install her beauty salon, and in this way, provide her customers with better service and improve her income through her work. She is going to use the loan to purchase tools, hair coloring, nail polish, and cosmetics that she uses in her work. She has been in the credit group for three loan cycles, and she likes it because of the help and benefits that she receives from the bank. Her dream is to have a beauty salon.
