A loan helped to purchase cereals.

Selly's story

Selly is a grandmother who takes very good care of her grandchildren and children. She has gone through a lot of adversity in her life, but she has always had the strength to get ahead and continue progressing with her family. Selly is a smallholder farmer based in the Litein in the Rift Valley of Kenya. She owns a 1 acre piece of land that she uses to grow maize and keep seven dairy animals. She has also planted two hundred trees on it for aesthetic appearances and environmental health. Not only does the land provide her with capital for her business, but also a home for her family. Selly is blessed to have eight children with a husband to whom she has stayed married to for 48 years! Selly is seeking a loan to purchase cereals. The cereals she is seeking serve to replenish stock for food and business. The demand for cereals in Litein area, only a few kilometers from Selly's home, is up. Farmers in the area are rushing to grow more cereal crops. By placing herself in a position of supplying cereal seeds and still being a cereal farmer, she gets to enjoy profits from selling inputs and crop harvests. She is very pragmatic and considers herself more hardworking than others. Your loan will directly elevate Selly's livelihood. She strives to give her grandchildren a better life than the tough upbringing she grew up with. Kindly help out this old woman who has great desire to succeed.
