Taw Ka Yan Lay Village Group 1's story
This community is located in Taw Ka Yan Lay Village in the Myanmar Ayeyarwaddy Delta region and consists of five CBO (Community Based Organization) members overseeing 30 village customers. This loan will help some group members to purchase crop farming inputs such as fertilizers and gas for farm machines. The other members will be helped in paying the labor allowances to the daily workers on the farm. Pictured above are CBO members from Taw Ka Yan Lay Group 1, named Aung, Aung M, Aung T, Myint and Hla. Included in the picture is Aung (in the middle), who is 53 years old and married with five children. He farms on his nine acres of crop farm planting seasonal foods. His wife also helps him on the farm as well as sorting out the household chores. Aung has been in this agricultural business for over 20 years. Like the other fellow members, Aung will use the loan to pay the labor allowance to daily workers and as well as to purchase fertilizers.
