Ofelia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To buy additional groceries, toiletries, and beverages to expand her product inventory.
Ofelia is from Taguig City. She has been an active member of CCT since 2009 and she has already acquired several loans to make good profit from her business. She is a widow and she is determined to work harder, even in her old age, because she wants to give her family a good life in the future. Ofelia owns a variety store. She believes that business is her stepping stone to making her dreams come to happen. She knows how important it is for her neighbors and daily consumers to have a nearby store where they can buy a sachet of shampoo, a bar of soap, a PHP 5-worth of cooking oil, an egg, a toothpaste, or even an ice tube. She gets her product from a wholesaler at a lower price, and then she will sell it per piece for a higher price to have profit. She desires to manage a bigger store someday so she is requesting a PHP 12,000 loan which she will use to buy additional groceries, toiletries and beverages to expand her product inventory. She is positive that she will become a successful businesswoman in the future. Ofelia meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the fellowship and the Word of God she studies. All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
