Saran's Group's story
Saran, who is the one standing in the middle of the second row wearing a black headscarf, belongs to a group of 11 farmers who live and work in the village of Gonsolo, to the southeast of Bamako in Mali. Saran, 62 years of age, lives in a family composed of 35 people, 19 of whom are children. Farm work allows her to provide food for all of her family. She has decided to join myAgro to improve her farm work. For her first year with myAgro, Saran has bought a pack of OPV [Open Pollinated Variety] seeds as well as fertilizers to grow peanuts on her field of 0.0625 ha [0.15 acres]. Thanks to this purchase, she hopes to increase her yield, buy additional agricultural supplies and make sure her family is safe from hunger.
