M. Rafaq's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy a bull calf for producing beef for reselling.
M. Rafaq's story
Rafaq, 35, is an energetic man living with his spouse, four children and parents in the rural area of Lahore, Pakistan. His forefathers and relatives have been selling meat for many years. Butchery is a traditional work. He learnt these arts regarding slaughter and dividing the carcass from his father and earns a reasonable income for his entire family. In the beginning he was purchasing a small quantity of beef from the market and then selling it in his locality from his butcher shop. The customers were complaining about stale beef and he does not want to compromise over his quality and reputation. This is the reason he wants to produce fresh beef and wants to buy a bull calf for producing more beef to sell, but he does not have enough cash in hand. For this is the reason he contacted the Kiva field partner, and after understanding all the procedures, he has requested a Kiva loan, so he can buy a bull calf. He hopes that this loan will prove productive and beneficial for his butcher shop.
