Hilary's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to help expand and improve her business providing equine health therapy for children.
Hilary’s equine assisted therapy and learning services company is a prime example of how microloans help not just single individuals, but also hold the potential to indirectly improve the lives of scores of others. As she was pursuing her degrees in social work and psychology, Hilary began working with horses. She became familiar with the ability of animal interaction to improve the mental and behavioral health of both children and adults. Seeing an opportunity to change the lives of many people for the better, she decided to start her own business in Chicago over 10 years ago. She recently relocated to Georgia for a more temperate and year-round therapeutic setting. Hilary works with one other partner, and often contracts with licensed mental health professionals and equine specialists to co-facilitate therapy sessions and groups. Hilary is “proud that we are able to do what we love and [are] passionate about while helping people improve their lives!” Her business shows a commitment to helping in as many ways as possible. For example, the horses she raises are rescued horses from appalling backgrounds of abuse and neglect. With this loan, Hilary will be able to consolidate some of the business' debt, incurred from starting this vast venture. In the future, she hopes to purchase permanent facilities for her program. With this temporary financial help, she will be able to focus on building her business and providing valuable services to as many people and animals as possible.
