Harriet's story

Harriet lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with three children, and two of them go to school. She takes care of one additional family member. She sells second-hand clothes. She has been in this business for the last five years. She works six days a week. She gets additional income from poultry farming. She has requested a loan of 1,200,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy a bale of used clothes. Her major challenges include seasonality and transportation. Her goal and aspiration is to educate her children to the university level. She lives in a rented house, and the family has access to electricity but does not have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include food and school fees.
