A loan helped to pay for five oxen and forage for feeding the livestock.

Lusya's story

Lusya is in agribusiness. Specifically, Lusya keeps a cow, 9 pigs and 20 piglets. She lives with her younger son Tigran, who helps his mother with farming activities. Lusya's husband and two elder children are migrant workers in a neighboring country. Besides farming work, Lusya also works at a local kindergarten. Due to her hard work, Lusya efficiently implements her farming business. She has now applied for this loan to purchase oxen and forage for feeding the livestock; this will enlarge her livestock. Because this is Lusya's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history.
