A loan helped to purchase a calf and to cover personal expenses for her daughters' studies.
Dinora Del Carmen's story
Dinora, 43 years old, did not study. She is a single mother of two daughters. In her home lives Dinora’s father. Dinora makes a living from the production and sale of corn tamales. She learned this trade as a child since she did not have the opportunity to go to school. She also makes chicken and bean tamales, which she makes every three days. She buys the primary materials in the city, which is about 10 kilometers from her home. She specifically purchases a net of 6 baskets of corn (300 ears of corn) and pays a taxi to bring them to her home. Dinora needs the loan to purchase a calf and to cover personal expenses for her daughter’s studies, and also for work capital in her tamale business. She hopes that her daughters have the necessary resources to study until the university and that they become professionals, and that they have better living conditions in the future.
