Salimata's Group's story
This Banc Villageois was created and inaugurated on July 16, 2012. The group is entering its sixth loan cycle and consists of women who all live in the same area. They get along well and share a good team spirit. Their main business activity is small trade. Mrs. Salimata (standing at the far right and raising her hand) is the group’s featured borrower. She is a 40-year-old married mother of one boy. She sells local grains such as millet and maize, as well as livestock that she buys at the weekly markets. She will use this loan to buy 10 sacks of cereals at 7,000f each and 30,000f worth of livestock to retail at the local market. Her profits will allow her to help her husband with their household’s day-to-day expenses and to cover her child’s tuition fees.
