A loan helped To buy groceries to sell.

Mary's story

Mary is a married woman aged 49 years and has eight children who are all grown-ups. She lives in a semi-urban setting and her family lives far away from where she operates her store. She runs a grocery shop which sells all types of food items and beverages. She has been operating since 1994 and supplements her family income with agriculture and bakery services. Mary works seven days a week and each day she works for 14 hours. She started this business so that she could earn a living for her children since she and her husband are retired from employment. She has acquired this loan facility in order to re-stock her business since she is expecting high sales in this Easter season. Her customers are fellow residents around and her dream is to expand the business to the level of wholesale. Her biggest challenge is limited capital. Mary describes herself as an honest woman and urges all women to be innovative and enterprising.
