Ekaterine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To expand her trading business and make more profit.
Ekaterine, who is a 37-year-old woman, lives in Kutaisi city. She has two children and a pensioner grandmother. She has been unable to find a stable job, as she only has a secondary education and no work experience. In order to meet her family's increased needs, Ekaterine started a small trading business with silver jewelry. She purchases a quantity of jewelry and sells it in her community for a profit. To make more profit and purchase her products at lower prices, Ekaterine wants to go to Turkey, where there is a worldwide market. She will also expand the variety of jewelry she has, which will meet all her costumers' needs. Ekaterine has requested a loan at local financial institutions, but has been rejected several times due to her family's unstable financial condition. She has a really insignificant income and her family lives in poverty. Her loan request was approved under the framework of a joint initiative of Kiva and Credo. This start-up loan program envisages provision of business start-up and re-startup credits with reasonable conditions for the country's poor people, who do not have access to traditional credit products because they are regarded as “high risk borrowers." Ekaterine and her family members will be very grateful for the help, as the living condition of the family will significantly increase and she will continue running her lovely business.
