A loan helped to buy fruits and vegetables.

Jennifer Andrea's story

Every 15 days the members of the credit group 'Jesús Con Nosotros' meet in a neighborhood in the city of Portoviejo. This is a marginally urban area where the people strive every day to move their families forward. This is where Jennifer lives. She is 20 years old and is in a common-law marriage from which she has 2 children ages three and one. Her husband is a merchant. Jennifer is a homemaker, and is requesting a loan to help her husband who has a small business selling fruits and vegetables. In the early morning her husband heads to the wholesale market in the city to acquire products to then go and sell them locally. Recently, with the help of a loan he started his business given their need since he didn't have a job. Now, thanks to this loan he hopes to expand his business. This loan is to buy fruits and vegetables for his business. He has done 2 cycles in the credit group, and he likes it because they can get ahead with the loans. Their dreams are to continue improving the business, and that their children never lack their daily bread.
