Millali's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to cover operational costs and finish the craft section of her bead and jewelry shop.
Creative, eight-year-old Milla loved making jewelry for fun. But unlike most artistic eight-year-olds, she took her passion several steps further and funded the opening of a unique bead and craft store in Somerville. Milla was inspired to turn a life-long passion into a profitable business. She wanted to provide an opportunity to other jewelry designers to sell their products, and provide a craft space where anyone could be inspired by creative arts, as she was as a young girl. The store has experienced constant growth, but has experienced some difficulty obtaining enough capital to invest and expand the company as needed. This loan will support operational costs through the winter and allow Milla to finish the craft school section of the store. Milla is originally from Venezuela and moved to the US over five years ago to pursue and grow her career in sustainable engineering. While she is not involved on the day to day store activities she enjoys seeing it grow. She hopes to see the store provide multiple crafting programs and create a community maker-space for jewelry design, as well as continue to help local designers sell their works.
