A loan helped to purchase a chaff cutter.
Hello lenders, meet Grace. The 36-year-old mother of three is a smallholder farmer based in Tinderet village, found in the North Rift region of Kenya. The secondary-educated entrepreneur runs a mixed-farm where she keeps five fairly-productive dairy cows that produce milk for both consumption and sale. Grace started farming in 2004. She farms on a 7 acre piece of land that belongs to her husband, whose professional activities have very little to do with agriculture. She was farming for subsistence but recently switched it up for commercial produce. The income she made from this transition greatly improved her income status to enable her to afford a better private school education for her children. Grace is seeking a loan to purchase a chaff cutter. In her dairy business, she places more importance on animal health and nutrition than other factors. The chaff cutter is handy during feed preparation to ensure that the hay is evenly cut into appropriately small pieces that cows will enjoy and easily digest. Returns from this investment will enable Grace to pay for her children's education expenses. She wants nothing but the best foundation for her children's future.
