Mwihangiri Self Help Group's story

The person raising her hand in the photo is Rosemary. She is a member of Mwingari Self Help Group. The group members came together in order to grow socially and economically through agriculture. Rosemary is 43 years old and married, with three children who all go to school. She has been a member of the group for four years now. With her loan, Beatrice envisions acquiring hybrid seeds and fertilizers for growing ½ acre of maize and ¼ acre each of sorghum and millet. She hopes this will result in her having a good harvest that will ensure food security for her household. She will also sell the surplus and spend the money on paying school fees for her children.
