Hasmik's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for six sheep to increase her livestock.

Hasmik's story

Hasmik is a teacher working in a local school in Zorakert village. She lives with her husband and together with him, after her work in the school, she is also involved in farming. They keep livestock of three cows, calves, eleven sheep, and hens. Realizing how important their agricultural income is for their living, Hasmik would like to increase her livestock. She applied for this loan to purchase six sheep.

She had already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to pay it back. However, thanks to hard work during recent times, Hasmik has been able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments. Therefore, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.
