Elma

Elma is 27 years old and lives with her young daughter in the family home in a rural area of Zaña. Zaña is in the Chiclayo province of the Lambayeque region of Peru’s northern coast. Here, life is quiet; the people make a living mainly in trade and raising small animals. Elma makes a living raising cattle, as well as selling the milk from her animals. She has over a year’s experience with this business and has customers who provide her with good personal and professional references. This loan will be used to buy a larger quantity of cattle and to pay for repairs to corrals. With this loan, Elma hopes to increase her income and, as a result, improve her and her family’s quality of life.
