A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow.

Erick's story

Erick is a brilliant and resilient smallholder / mixed-farmer from Litein, located in the south Rift Kenya. Even in old age, he is still the caring family man who is committed to his wife. For the past five years, the couple's primary income sources have been milk, eggs, crops and transportation services. Erick is seeking a loan to purchase a high-yielding dairy cow. The cow he wants may be pricier than dominant breeds but he will get real value for his money when it comes to milk production. Erick will also be able to get more cow dung for manure and fuel. With your loan, he will kill two birds with one stone: increased milk production and reduced costs. This will greatly boost his profit margin and thus his income. When asked, "How will this loan benefit your family?" Erick replied, "My family will get food and more income and thus better living."
