Luka's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To purchase a trading booth and serve customers who need to access financial services.
Luka is a twenty-nine-year-old micro-entrepreneur. He operates his own Zoona mobile money-transfer business in Livingstone, Zambia. His business provides financial services to people in his community. Luka is married and has two daughters ages seven and two years old. Luka began running his own business ten years ago selling clothes. He added the business of mobile money transfers to boost his income, as his profit margins were very low and he struggled to provide basic needs for his family. Today the combined incomes from his two businesses help Luka earn a decent living. Luka is requesting a loan from Kiva because he wants to pay for his trading booth which he currently uses it to make his transactions but has not paid for it due to lack of capital. This loan will also help Luka to add on the money that he has to serve customers in his business. Adding capital to his mobile money transfer business will help Luka earn more commissions and help him take his daughter school. He is hopeful that this will improve his standard of living. He sees his mobile money business as a good first step in becoming a successful businessman. Luka thanks the Kiva lenders.
