San Francisco Group's story
The communal bank "SAN FRANCISCO" is starting its first Pro Mujer loan cycle through the Achacachi Social Center. The group has eight members and a management board, with Hilda as the secretary. The members are involved in different business including milk sales and transportation service. The loan will benefit small business owners, including Hilda. This is her first experience with Pro Mujer and she joined by invitation through a mass promotion conducted by the institution in her area. Her business is selling milk, which she decided to go into several years ago after observing how broad the market was. The loan she is requesting is to increase her work capital so she can buy animal feed wholesale. She will purchase goods from wholesale sellers in her community and then will later sell her products. This style of work allows her to generate an income to support her family economically, since she is still single. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says it is the training offered by the institution.
