Ta Man Gyi Village Group 1's story

This community is located in Ta Man Gyi Village of the Myanmar Ayeyarwaddy Delta region. In this community, five female CBO (Community Based Organization) members oversee a group of 23 village customers (7 Males, 16 Females). Ta Man Gyi Village consists of over 360 households and 1,200 villagers.

The loan will help the group members purchase high quality feed for ducks, costing $24 for five days feed for 100 ducks. In addition to duck raising, villagers also farm, fish, and raise pigs and chickens.

The above photo shows five CBO members: Daw Than, Daw War, Daw Soe, Daw Yee and Daw Mya. Daw Than, the first from the left, is 35 years old and married with three children. Daw Than's husband takes care of the family's ducks, pigs and chickens. She runs a small grocery store at the family's house. This loan will enable her to purchase high quality feed that will increase duck eggs and income.
