El Diamante Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a range of bread products which will enable her to satisfy the demand for these products.

El Diamante Group's story

The communal bank El Diamante (The Diamond) is made up of 4 women with one aim: to develop their businesses and improve their families' lives. They have decided to apply for another loan cycle with ADIM in order to finance their businesses, and this will be coordinated by Mercedes, a 24 year old married woman who owns a bakery in which she also buys and sells bread. Mercedes hopes to be able to satisfy the current demand for this product. She has been selling these products in the capital city for the last 7 years and she is applying for this loan so that she can buy bread loaves, sweet bread cakes, sliced bread, and a variety of speciality pastries such as, pico, punto rojo and empanadas. Her previous loans enabled her to increase her production of bread and to attract new customers. The rest of the group members are: Claudia, a 54 year old woman who has been making and selling tortillas and refried beans from her home for the last 6 years; Dalila, a 38 year old woman who has been selling cakes in the busiest market in the capital city for the last 10 years, and Maria, a 35 year old woman who has been selling bread door-to-door in the communities near to her home for the last 2 years.
