Hta Lun Village Group's story
This community is located in Hta Lun Village, in Myanmar Ayeyarwaddy Delta region. In this community, there are five CBO (Community Based Organization) members overseeing a group of 27 village customers (10 Males, 17 Females). This loan will help the village customers purchase high quality feed ($27 per packet to feed 100 ducks for six days) and vitamins. Hta Lun Village has 245 households and over 800 people many of whom are farmers. The village also raises pigs, ducks and chickens as livestock for additional income. For education, this village has up to secondary level. Older students travel to other towns to continue their education. The members pictured above are the four CBO members from Hta Lun Village: U Thein, U Than, U Kaw and Daw Khine. U Thein, a 36-year-old farmer, owns a two acre crop farm. He lives together with his wife and four children. His wife sometimes sells dry foods or vegetables by boat to villages. She and U Thein take care of their livestock, 200 ducks and two pigs. U Thein will use Proximity's loan to buy better quality feeds to increase eggs as well as income.
