Aura Marina's story
Aura is a woman who works with her mind set on a better future for her children. This is why she strives each day to reach her goals. She is 50 years old, and lives with her husband in San Pablo Jocopilas. Aura is a woman who enjoys cooking. Five years ago, she decided to look for an activity to help her husband provide for their 5 children, who are still in school. Aura now has a business selling tamales and "chuchitos" (small Guatemalan tamales). She sells these products to the various stores in her community, and as she is very well-known, people also come to her house to buy her tamales. With her modest earnings from her business, she helps her husband to cover the household expenses. Aura really loves her family and wants them to have everything they need. One of their needs right now is to build a bathroom inside the house so that her family can have a place to shower. However, Aura lacks the capital to do this, so she suggested to her husband that they look for a loan which the two of them could pay off. Aura's goal is to have a bathroom for her family's hygiene.
