Marina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start up a food market and increase the family's income.

Marina's story

Marina is 24-year-old married woman. She lives with her husband, two children, who go to the local kindergarten, and pensioner grandmother. Marina married at an early age and wasn’t able to work despite having a university degree. She looks after her children and stays home, but she has a great desire to be involved in her own business.

The family is involved in the agricultural business, growing walnut trees and selling the harvested walnuts. As the existing income is not enough for a five-member family, Marina decided to get a loan for starting up her business. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of 2,600 Gel to open a food market. With the received credit, Marina will rent a space and will purchase a stock of food products, such as flour, sugar, and so on to resell among her neighbors.

She is a very motivated young woman with a great desire to increase the family’s income in order to improve the living conditions of her children.
