Doris Jhannet's story
Doris is a young woman originally from the Department of La Libertad, located in the northern Peruvian coast. Her parents are separated. She lives with her mother who has a new relationship. Her stepfather works occasionally as a construction laborer, and her mother works as a nanny to help cover the family costs. Doris has 2 younger brothers, who are now studying. She is currently studying in the Third Cycle of the Industrial Management program, which she enjoys greatly. She feels that it will allow her to have a very organized life, and she is also sure that her career will benefit her economically thus allowing her to help her mother raise and educate her younger brothers. She was about to stop studying due to her current economic situation which does not permit her to continue her studies. Consequently, she is requesting the support from KIVA so that she does not stop studying and she can become an excellent professional. She thinks that the support provided to people by KIVA is the best way to accomplish their objectives, given that KIVA helps them and contributes to education in Peru.
