Maria Francisca's story
Maria, who is 44 years old, did not go to school because her parents lived in extreme poverty. She is married, and with her husband, she has 3 children, who are 23, 21, and 15 years old. Her husband and three children work in agriculture, while Maria’s occupation is the sale of fruits and vegetables, breeding chickens, and planting leafy vegetables. Many years ago, she learned this work from her mother, who always worked in this type of business. To get to work, Maria travels 6 kilometers by bus, she works from 5:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. every day. The loan she is asking from this institution is to buy fruits, vegetables, and chickens for fattening. This way she will improve her business and will obtain a bit more income, to give her family a better quality of life. Maria’s dream is to buy a vehicle so she doesn’t have to travel by bus to her business, and that her children keep studying, so they can have a university degree.
