Marie Andre's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy four boxes of 25 chicks, plus feed and vaccinations.

Marie Andre's Group's story

This group was created 2 November 2006, on the inauguration day of the banc villageois. It is made up of women who all live in the same area. They have had a solid experience in the banc villageois system, with many members having gone through many cycles. They work primarily in small-scale commerce and making artisan goods. Marie André (who is standing on the far right with her hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is 40 years old, married, and has no children. She is the leader of the group. She works in poultry farming, where she buys chicks and raises them for at least 45 days. After they are slaughtered she sells these broiler chickens by the piece. She has done well with this business. With this new loan, she plans to buy four boxes of 25 chicks along with the feed and various vaccinations they need. Earnings from this business will allow her to better meet her needs and to improve the quality of her family's diet.
