Adama's Group's story
Created on May 7, 2009, this group is composed of women who are very active in farming in their village. They have an unassailable solidarity and are dedicated to small-scale commerce to reduce the obstacles to obtaining typical consumer goods. They also work in processing. Ms. Adama (sitting at the right with a hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is married and the mother of four children (2 boys and 2 girls). She is a very energetic woman in the 'banc villageois’ for having joined over five years ago. Her business involves the buying and selling of farm products, especially peanuts, which she purchases from producers and then resells at the international market in her sub-region. She enjoys good experience in this domain. Her new loan will enable her to purchase at least 12 sacks of peanuts to store with the aim of reselling at a better price. In addition to developing her business, the profits will enable her to do better at caring for her children with regard to healthcare and education, and especially to help out her husband in managing the household day to day.
