Fatoumata Kito's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy at least eight bags (of groundnuts) for processing and sale.

Fatoumata Kito's Group's story

Established in November 2004, the "banc villageois" loan association brings together women from the same village and its surrounding hamlets. They entertain good neighborly relations and most of them have had a long and enriching experience in the "banc villageois" system. They are small retail merchants and active in food processing. Mrs. Fatoumata (seated at the far right) is the group's featured borrower. She is 43 years old, married with two children, including a girl and a boy. She processes groundnut paste. She buys unshelled groundnuts in 50- or 60-kilo bags for processing and sales in 5-kilo or 20-kilo buckets. She has extensive experience in this area with several years' practice. She wants to use the new loan to buy at least eights bags (of groundnuts) for processing and sale. The profits will be used to better assist her husband in managing family expenses, particularly in terms of food.
