Habila's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To pay for his children's school fees and uniforms, eliminating the pressure to sell corn for low prices at harvest time.
Habila is a maize farmer and a member of Babban Gona. He joined Babban Gona primarily to create a better future for his children: Anoch and Edmund. Before he became a Babban Gona member, Habila would have had to sell his maize for low prices soon after harvest to meet his immediate cash needs for food and clothing. With this loan and Babban Gona’s support, he can now store his maize at harvest time and sell it a few months later for up to 40% more than the market price at harvest. When asked, Habila spoke of his ambition to use the additional income to educate his children, eventually ensuring they are well-educated and have professional jobs.
