Huseni Mahila Mandal Group's story

Hajraben, the group leader (lady in the center), hails from the Surendranagar district in Gujarat. She runs her own small clothing microenterprise to increase her family income. She purchases clothes from the wholesale market and sells them at a profit locally. Her income of 4,000 Indian rupees (INR) helps her to provide a better quality of life and health care for her family. But her income is just sufficient to contribute to their meager savings of 6,000 INR, which tides them over financially during medical and other emergencies. Married and living with her in-laws, 27-year-old Hajraben wants to start saving more so she can start her own family. She now hopes to expand her microenterprise by increasing the items she sells so that she can increase her income. Hajraben plans to buy additional items like jeans, dress materials, saris, leggings, etc., in bulk. These garments sell with a high demand among her customers. This will help her increase her customer base and provide more goods to increase her income by 6,000 INR a month. She cannot, however, fund these expansion plans through her own savings, and local banks do not provide access to microfinance either. So, Hajraben has joined with four other local women who run similar small businesses and want to expand their enterprise. This group of women, comprised of Jubiben, Roshanben, Fatmaben, and Sherabanuben, run their own clothing shops. Hajraben and her group seek to crowdfund the 75,000 INR they need to expand their small businesses. Your loan will help them to diversify and bulk up their inventories of garments, such as jeans, dress materials, sari, leggings, etc., which are in demand, and grow their businesses. Your loan will help these women to increase their incomes and provide a better quality of life for their children.
