A loan helped To buy a generator to be used for irrigation.
Kiva lenders! Meet Emily, one of the most hardworking women on earth. She is 26 years of age, very hardworking, and a go-getter. She is a proud mother of three lovely children. She hails from Moiben, a remote village in the Kapsowar area of Kenya. This area has harsh weather conditions and to survive, you must have tough skin, but Emily has defied all the odds and has been engaged in farming for the past five years. Her primary sources of income are crops and animal farming. Emily passionately loves farming and has even nicknamed one of her cows “Tuyai” (this is from a person’s name), and whenever she is milking her cow, she feels proud. She is contented with the farming way of life. Her biggest challenge in farming is irrigating her farm. She is requesting a loan to buy a generator that she will use in pumping water from the river to her farm. Irrigation is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops, maintenance of landscapes, and re-vegetation of disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of inadequate rainfall. Through this loan, she will be able to double her crop production, and this will translate to more income. Through the extra income from farming, she will be able to support her family and keep up with her rising family expenses. Emily patiently waits for your kindness.
