Eilenn Patricia's story
Eilenn is a resident of a neighborhood in Barranquilla. She is a 23-year-old woman who earns a living with the preparation of snacks and desserts. Her business is a family business: her mother has spent several years in this activity and is very familiar with this type of business. Eileen decided to join this business in the light of experience and success of her mother. Currently, she offers her products to the residents of the neighborhood where she lives, and also to some people from the surrounding neighborhoods. She works Monday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Her sales are made for cash, likewise she pays for her purchases, which she makes at warehouses, in cash. She is applying for a Kiva loan, her first loan, through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With this loan, she will buy supplies like flour, oil, eggs, and other ingredients for the preparation of her products. Her production will benefit from this investment and so will her sales, because at this time of the year, her sales increase because of the Christmas festivities. Eilenn is a woman with clear goals for her future: she wants to have her own house, and to expand her commercial activities.
