Jessica Paola's story
Jessica is a young Ecuadoran. She was born in Latacunga and is 21-years old. She is currently married and has one young daughter, who is 2-years old. She is a native of Latacunga and lives in her parents' house. Thanks to her parents' hard work and sacrifices, Jessica was able to finish secondary school. Nowadays, out of necessity, she makes her living raising and selling pigs. She learned the business as a young girl from her parents and family members, as the majority of them make their livings in this line of work. Jessica lives in a rural area of the city, in a sector well-known for agriculture and raising small animals. Jessica travels around the city and outside the city to make her sales. Jessica is a great help to her husband and has been the one to get their household ahead, both in their business and in taking care of their small daughter. She provides for their needs and is a support for their family. Her little one has been growing more and more each day. Today Jessica is requesting her second loan. She will use the loan to purchase more pigs from the city of Ambato. Jessica is grateful for Fundación Alternativa in Ecuador and for Kiva for making it possible for her to grow personally and professionally.
