Mbooga Bakyara Group's story
Mbooga Bakyara group was founded in a trading centre in Kanoni, Kiruhura disrict, Uganda. The group comprises both men and women. They all deal in several businesses. Moneda is a 34-year-old, single woman with four children. All her children are in school. Moneda owns a small restaurant which she runs with capital of UGX 500,000. She supports this with a poultry farm where she earns income to look after her family. She has applied for a loan of UGX 500,000 to help her buy equipment to use in running her business. Her customers are shop owners in the trading centre. She will use the rest of the money to pay school fees for her children. Moneda is a very honest and hard working woman. She hopes to be the best poultry farmer in the whole village. The group is thankful to the Kiva lenders for their generosity and support.
