Trinidad's story

Trinidad is a 63-year old man, separated, with grown-up children. He has a business repairing bicycles. He is independent, consistent, responsible, patient, caring, hard-working and a good listener, . He carries out his work in the 'el Torno' rural community which is located 45 minutes in car from the city. The area is known for its agriculture, bringing together the agricultural producers and the sellers / distributors from the city. The climate in this area is hot, tropical and humid, with a year-round temperature of between 21-35 degrees centigrade during the day. Trinidad is dark skinned and petite with grey hair and brown eyes. His mother tongue is Guarani which is spoken where he lives, but he also speaks Spanish in the wider society. He lives in his own house made of metal which has electricity and a private water well. He works in the bicycle trade and his work basically involves repairing: handlebars, pedals, forks, mudguards, chain wheels, connecting rods, headlights, lights and steering etc. His business is very demanding because where he is located there are no roads and so the only way to get around is by bicycle or motorbike. He comments: "Bicycles are my world: hearing the clean sound of a chain going round in the air is like music to my ears...". His dream is to have a bigger bicycle shop. He hopes to buy wholesale bicycle parts such as; wheels. bearings and other parts which suffer the most wear and tear and need to be constantly changed. For these reasons, Trinidad is requesting a loan to buy wholesale bicycle parts to have material to work with.
