Santiago's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in tasks to maintain his coffee crop.

Santiago's story

Santiago, 55, lives with his three children in his own house. He works in agriculture growing coffee. His community--located in the district of Pucará in the province of Jaén in the Cajamarca region of the northern highlands of Peru--works primarily in agriculture, ranching, and commerce. Santiago has earned a living growing coffee in the community of Ahuyaca for 10 years. He's going to invest the loan in maintenance tasks for his coffee crop: soil amendments, weeding, pruning, and other labor. He's also going to buy agricultural inputs to fertilize his crop. That way Santiago will be able to increase his yield, which will improve his income in the short term, increase his profits, and improve his quality of life and his family's as a result.
