Laxmi Narayan Shg (A) Group's story
This 13-member group belongs to the Laxmi Narayan Shg, which was created on 19th September, 2014. The women of this group get along very well. Their main business activities are agriculture, trading and raising livestock. Bhagyabati, the woman standing fourth from left hand side in first row, is 27 years old. She is a married mother of two children, one son and one daughter. She earns a living through selling children's clothing, which she has been doing for the past seven years. She gets her supplies from the town market and then sells them at the daily markets. In total, she spends 10,000 INR on children's clothing. The prices of these clothes vary between 50 INR to 300 INR. She then resells these clothes with 20 percent to 40 percent profit. With the profits from this loan, she is planning on buying a baby goat, which she will raise herself and then resell. She will also use the profits to see to her children's needs.
