Tatiana's story

Tatiana is 36 years old and lives with her mother who is an older adult who suffers from a chronic illness and requires a lot of care, for which she decided to start her own business making crafts using foam and Fofucha dolls, from her house to be able to care for her mother. She began this work 10 years ago, and her great skill and creativity are evident in her crafts. Currently she has 4 private schools, 3 public schools and the snack bars in the I.C.E. (Costa Rican Electrical Institute) which order all sorts of foam and Fofucha decorations. These months are the high season since the teachers order for all the next year's events, graduation mementos and Christmas boxes for the students' party. For this reason she needs more raw material to be able to fill all the orders, so she asks for this loan. Tatiana has very good references from her craft teacher; in the visit that was made, her great creativity and perfect finishing of the work she has done was verified. When Tatiana was in school, repeating the 8th grade for the second time, a teacher recommended that her mother take her out of school because it wasn't possible for her to learn like the others and that she had another gift. It was from there that her mother enrolled her in the IPEC [Community Professional Education Institute]. She took various classes, but when she began to work with the foam, she loved it and from this moment, she used it for her different tasks. It is important to stress that Tatiana will only use a part of this loan for this season, since at the beginning of the year she needs to invest in other sorts of materials that the teachers ask for.
