A loan helped to buy traditional fabric for resale.
Ndeye Kadiatou's Group's story
This bank villageois has been created in June 2009. It is composed of women from different neighborhoods of the Sédhiou and is known as Twin Sisters because there is good rapport and mutual support among the group members, who are also related to each other. The group members work as vendors, process food for sale and manufacture artisanal items. Mrs. Ndèye, the one standing on the right raising her hand, is the star borrower of the group. She is 62 years old, married, and has three children: two daughters and one son. She sells fabric for men’s and women’s outfits. She stocks up in Mali and in Bambia. She sells in credit, in monthly installments, or for cash, depeneding on the customer. With her new loan, she plans to buy 500 pieces of “thioub” tie-dyed fabric and 15 sets of regular damask-type “bazin” fabric.
