Aisha's loan finished fundraising, but these similar borrowers need your support
A loan helped to pay for her higher education.
Aisha is a freshman at the American University of Central Asia, in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Here is her story: “I have studied hard at school and dreamed to apply to the JMC Department of AUCA, because AUCA's system is useful in a way that the subjects are taught by U.S. textbooks and in the sphere of PR, this is really relevant. Whatever depended on me I did, and I am not afraid of difficulties, which I face. I had high grades and good results in Olympiads; I also was very active in school’s social life. Unfortunately, there are things that I am not able to manage. One of them is money. It is impossible for my family to afford the tuition fee at AUCA. For us, it’s huge money and we will need several years to save it. In 2011, we lost my father and this tragedy totally changed my family’s life. I live with my mother and brother; my other two siblings are married and live separate from us. My mother is retired and gets a small pension. My brother is 24 years old and got a job not long ago. His salary is not enough to support three of us and to pay my university tuition. I need a Kiva loan, because I want to dream, to set my own purposes and to achieve them. First, the loan will be a good start for my education. Second, education will help me to achieve my life goals. Finally, I will be able to make a contribution to further life not only my family, but also other people in my country.”
