Ishaku Ibrahim's story
Ishaku Ibrahim is a maize farmer. Before he became a Babban Gona member, Ishaku Ibrahim would have to sell his maize for low prices soon after harvest to cater to his immediate cash needs. With this loan and Babban Gona’s support, Ishaku Ibrahim can now store his maize at harvest time and sell it a few months later for up to 40% higher than the market price at harvest. Like other Babban Gona members, Ishaku Ibrahim is looking to earn a better income to provide more food and clothing for his family, and hopes to become the most profitable farmer in his community.
