Princesitas Del Amor Group's story
The “PRINCESITAS DEL AMOR” communal bank is starting its 9th lending cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Los Andes. This group is composed of 8 members and is run by a board of directors, of which Gregoria is the President. The members have diverse businesses such as selling coffee, crafts, tucumanas (Bolivian empanadas), party favors, groceries, food, shawls, and a car wash business. The loan being requested will help the small business owners in Gregoria's group. She joined Pro Mujer 2 years ago, invited by a friend who is a member of the communal bank. She currently has a business selling crafts made with aguayo fabric. She learned the technique from her Godmother who supported her in starting her business. Once she had a little bit of capital, she decided to set up an independent business. This loan will be used for working capital to purchase aguayo fabric wholesale. She will purchase the fabric from the wholesalers in the city of La Paz, and then sell her products at her stand. This work allows her to help support her family financially, as she is single with two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the training and loans that Pro Mujer provides.
